November 2017 Community Events Spotlight

DLG attorneys and paraprofessionals are actively involved in the central Kentucky community.  We strive to make central Kentucky a better place to live, work and relax for everyone.

On Thursday, November 2nd, Dean Langdon is attending the SPARK celebration, which honors startup businesses and entrepreneurs. The Dean Harvey Award will be presented and companies receiving the 2017 eAchiever Awards will be announced. These companies have raised $1 million in funds and/or created 5 new jobs in the last year. For more information, visit their Facebook page:

On Thursday, November 9th, Laura Day DelCotto will be speaking at the NAWBO Symposium 2017: Business in the Bluegrass, in Louisville. NAWBO is dedicated to providing education, tactical skills and resources to women in business. The Symposium will be open to any business owner or business professional. Laura Day will be presenting together with Summer Auerbach of Rainbow Blosson on “How to Launch a Business and Avoid Bankruptcy”. On Tuesday November 14th, attorney Sara Johnston will be joining Northwestern Mutual’s Brandon Gaines and Beth Chatterton to discuss planning to protect and supercharge your legacy. They will be discussing proactive planning, risks for retirement, common mistakes seen and many more topics. The discussion will be from 6:00PM – 8:00PM on 330 E Main Street in Lexington, Kentucky at the Conference Room at Lexington Chamber of Commerce.

On Saturday November 18th, Attorney Dean Langdon will be earning his Thanksgiving feast and running the Gobbler Half Marathon which benefits Glean KY and the New Vocations Racehorse Adoption: They will also be collecting canned/non perishable goods at their two packet pickups and on race morning. All registrants receive a long sleeved performance T-shirt (while they last). Overall, Age Group awards (13.1), DJ and live band, race photos, chip timing, post race eats and lots of “Gobble Gobble fun”! Sign up by November 8th to join!

On Thanksgiving Day, Dean Langdon will be running the Thoroughbred Classic, which benefits eight local charities: Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center, Central Kentucky Radio Eye, Broke Spoke, CASA, Girls on the Run Central Kentucky, E7 Kids Café, Glean KY, and Step by Step.
