December Community Events Spotlight


DLG attorneys and paraprofessionals are actively involved in the central Kentucky community.  We strive to make central Kentucky a better place to live, work and relax for everyone.


DLG employees are into their 2016 season of the Fayette County legal community bowling league, The Legal Eagles. DLG’s team roster includes: attorneys Jamie Harris, and Michael Gartland, paralegals Heather Purnell, and Stephanie DeWitt, runner John Fisk, and Director of Marketing Ashley Grigsby. For the past three years DLG has finished within the top 3, and this season is expected to be the team’s best showing. Matches are held weekly on Wednesdays at Southland Bowling Alley in Lexington.


Laura Day DelCotto and Sara Johnston will be helping the Central Kentucky American Inns of Court (“CKAIC”) collect toys for the CKAIC’s annual Toys for Tots drive.


On Thursday, December 8th, paralegals Heather Purnell and Stephanie DeWitt will be attending the Greater Lexington Paralegal Association (“GLPA”) Holiday Luncheon. DLG is nominated for Most Supportive Law Firm. Heather Purnell is nominated for the Donald Eppler Commitment Award. Don was the 1985 Vice President; 1991 Board at Large Member; 1994 Treasurer and 1995 President of the Greater Lexington Paralegal Association. He also was a founding member of the Kentucky Paralegal Association and served on the Paralegal Advisory Council of Sullivan College. Don showed paralegals the benefits of hard work and dedication. The 1996 GLPA Board renamed the outstanding GLPA member award to the “Donald E. Eppler Commitment Award” as to honor his great love, enthusiasm and commitment for the GLPA and the paralegal profession. This honor has been given each year since.


Attorney Sara Johnston invites you to Cocoa with Santa at the Willows at Citation on December 11th 12:30pm – 2:00pm. This event is for children of all ages and includes free cocoa, pictures with Santa, a pancake bar and cookie decorating. Call (859) 277 – 0320 for more information.

On Friday, December 16th, The Nest -Center for Women Children and Families’ 39th annual Reindeer Express event to assist families with children five years of age and younger who have received services from The Nest. These families are provided with new toys, coats, hats, scarves, and gloves to be given to their children as gifts for the holiday season. DLG’s John Fiske is playing with his band, Noble Giants, at the Farish Theater on December 28th. All ages are welcome and a portion of the profits will go to The Nest -Center for Women Children and Families. Come out and enjoy!
