Many law firms say that they provide “the highest quality legal services.” What does this really mean? I recently watched a relatively routine hearing in a Chapter 11 case where the debtor corporation had eight – that’s right – eight lawyers in the courtroom. One lawyer spoke, seven watched. Because this is a case where the lawyers’ bills will be filed in the public record, I can’t wait to see how many of those lawyers billed their time for that hearing.
At DLG, our tag line of “Analysis. Strategy. Results.” means something to us. We think our clients want value. We think our clients want results. Most consumers of legal services don’t particularly care about “highest quality” or eight lawyers in the courtroom, no matter how much effort they are exerting. Most consumers of legal services want results, ideas, options, and value. We may not always be able to tell you what you want to hear, but we always strive to produce results and value as opposed to lots of costly time.
