November 2016 Community Events

DLG attorneys and paraprofessionals are actively involved in the central Kentucky community.  We strive to make central Kentucky a better place to live, work and relax for everyone.


The attorneys of DelCotto Law Group will be attending the Welcome Receptions for the Eastern and Western District Bankruptcy Clerks. Nathan W. Lee is the new Bankruptcy Clerk in the Eastern District and will be celebrating with a reception on November 17, 2016.  Elizabeth H. Parks is the new Bankruptcy Clerk in the Western District with a reception November 2, 2016. In honor of this year’s double investitures, the Kentucky Bar Association is hosting two welcome receptions.


On November 4th, Member Jamie Harris, paralegals Stephanie DeWitt and Heather Purnell, and clerk John Fiske will be participating in the Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon on November 4th. Since 1986, Central Kentucky businesses have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars by participating in JA’s Annual Bowl-a-thon event. Last year’s volunteer efforts alone inspired over 1,600 additional students. In addition, JA introduced Wii bowling offering companies the opportunity to bowl at their business. DLG is supporting the 2016 Lexington Go Red Experience on November 4th. Heart disease remains the #1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year.  The Go Red for Women movement is important to all of us as we work to change these numbers. Guests are invited to come early (8:30) to experience Discovery Village with more health screenings, fun activities and 3 educational breakout sessions.  This year there is a professional high-energy fashion show in addition to our survivor fashion show.  The Keynote speaker is Julie Wilkes. On November 8th at 4:00p.m., attorney Sara Johnston will be conducting a complimentary presentation on Long Term Care Planning: You Have More to Protect than You Think. The presentation will take place at the Willows at Citation and is open to the Kentucky community. Please RSVP by November 7th at 5:00PM to (859) 277-0320.


DLG employees are looking forward to the 2016 season of the Fayette County legal community bowling league, The Legal Eagles, beginning November 9th. DLG’s team roster includes: attorneys Jamie Harris, and Michael Gartland, paralegals Heather Purnell, and Stephanie DeWitt, runner John Fisk, and Director of Marketing Ashley Grigsby. For the past three years DLG has finished within the top 3, and this season is expected to be the team’s best showing. Matches are held weekly on Wednesdays at Southland Bowling Alley in Lexington. DLG is a proud supporter of Habitat for Humanity and on November 10th, debuts the first-ever Bids4Builds Launch Party! The night will include several live auction items and a display of items that are up for bid on the online auction November 10th -25th. Tickets to the event are $30 and include a drink ticket.
