August 2016 Community Events

DLG attorneys and paraprofessionals are actively involved in the central Kentucky community.  We strive to make central Kentucky a better place to live, work and relax for everyone.


On August 6th, Member Dean Langdon will be attending the Black & White Ball to support the Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center. All funds raised from this event are used to directly support victim services and community prevention and awareness programs. On August 18th and 19th, Dean Langdon will be attending American Bankruptcy Institute’s Midwest Regional CLE in Cincinnati, Ohio. The advisory board has assembled faculty of regional bankruptcy judges and practitioners who will offer practical knowledge, insight and expertise during dynamic sessions exploring both commercial and consumer issues. Several networking opportunities will enable attendees to connect with colleagues from throughout the Midwest.


On August 19th, Laura Day DelCotto is attending the American Diabetes Association Summer Wine Down at Talon Winery. Join us as we Kiss Summer Goodbye and Get Ready to Pucker Up for a Cure at Talon Winery. Evening fun includes local award-winning wine, food trucks, entertainment by Kenny Owens & Group Therapy, the introduction of our 2016 Kiss a Pig candidates, a special guest appearance and more. Proceeds benefit the American Diabetes Association by providing local diabetes research, programs, education and advocacy efforts. Tickets $15 in advance, $20 at the door.


The Lexington Art League and Parks & Recreation are gearing up for the 41st annual Woodland Art Fair August 20-21 inside Woodland Park ground. DLG sponsors the Cutting Edge artist award.


On August 25th, Laura Day DelCotto will be attending the Salute to Small Business Awards Luncheon. The Salute to Small Business Awards Luncheon is presented by Forcht Bank at the Keeneland Entertainment Center on the grounds of historic Keeneland. The awards will recognize the “Thoroughbreds” of our small business community in variety of categories and help celebrate the naming of a new Commerce Lexington Inc. Small Business of the Year. DLG is joining the Fayette County Bar Association’s Women Law Section in supporting the Women Build. Women Build is Habitat for Humanity’s program for women who want to learn construction skills and build homes and communities. This program brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children worldwide. For more information and volunteer opportunities, visit


DLG is a sponsor for A Night for The Nest, an annual fundraiser benefiting the Nest at which Director of Marketing, Ashely Grigsby, will be speaking.
