DelCotto Law Group PLLC paralegal Beverly Rawlings recently earned the designation of PACE Registered Paralegal® after passing the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE) offered by the National Federation of Paralegal Associations. Ms. Rawlings is one of seventeen paralegals in the Commonwealth of Kentucky to earn this distinction.

DelCotto Law Group PLLC attorney Michael J. Gartland, esq. recently earned the Continuing Legal Education Award from the Kentucky Bar Association. This award certifies that Mr. Gartland has completed more than 62.5 hours of Continuing Legal Education within the past three years.

DelCotto Law Group PLLC attorney Michael J. Gartland, Esq. recently won a civil commercial litigation case styled as Asher Land and Mineral, Ltd. v. Nami Resources Company, LLC. On March 15, 2012, a Bell County jury returned a $3.99 million verdict in favor of Asher on its claims against Nami for breach of contract and fraud for under reporting royalties owed to Asher. The $3.99 million amount includes $2.68 million of punitive damages, the largest award of its kind in a Bell Circuit Court case. The court entered a $111,000 directed verdict for Asher on its claim against Nami for wrongfully charging Asher severance taxes on natural gas produced from its property.

Junior Achievement helps to develop real world financial and work readiness skills in students K-12. DLG strongly supports all financial literacy efforts, also coordinating and volunteering for the CARE ("Credit Abuse Resistance Education") program in the Fayette County Public Schools System. An alumni reception will be held in Louisville on June 6 during the Kentucky Bar Association Annual Convention where all firms that are Dean's Circle members will be recognized.
